Personal property & Interior Structure Coverages

Many people who own condo units mistakenly assume that the master policy so called "condo association policy" will cover for their personal properties & interior structures. However, the most condo association insurance policies are designed to cover only the basic structure and the common areas. Incase of a total loss, the chances are, though, association insurance DOES NOT cover your personal properties & interior structures.

Liability Coverages

Many Condo unit owners mistakenly assume that their master policy will cover them from personal legal responsibilities on or off your premises. However, your master policy will not cover you for your own personal legal responsibility. Condo unit owners policy covers your legal responsibility for accidental bodily injuries, or death, or property damages to others-caused by you, a member of your family, or your pets. Even if you are legally liable, the legal costs of your defense are covered.

Building Addtional Alteration

The built in improvements and alterations you have made to your condo are also covered. (varies depends upon carriers.)

Addtional Living Expenses

The company will cover the greater-than-normal cost of living expenses that you face. When a covered loss force you to live in temporary quarters while your home is being rebuilt or repaired. Or if you are renting unit to others, the rent will be covered under this coverages.

Unit Rented to Others (Rental Condo Unit Policy)

When you rent your unit to others, you need broader coverages like personal injury which can be obtained as an available option.
